AI-Media launches first encoder hardware in a decade: LEXI Text and Voice
AI-Media has unveiled the LEXI Text Encoder and LEXI Voice Encoder at NAB 2026 (Booth W2142), the company's first new encoder hardware in more than a decade. Both units are 4K broadcast-ready with 12G-SDI connectivity and upgraded AI processing. A new LEXI Live Sync feature — formerly called CCMatch — handles precise caption-to-video timing alignment.
The LEXI Voice Encoder adds AI-powered sound separation and background noise removal upstream of the caption engine, producing cleaner audio inputs for multilingual voice translation workflows. The two-device family is designed to cover text-based captioning and voice-driven translation in a single hardware line rather than requiring separate appliances.
AI-Media is also introducing a Hardware-as-Subscription (HaaS) model across its encoder range, removing upfront capital expenditure. Broadcasters pay a recurring subscription that covers hardware, firmware updates, and support. NAB attendees can access three months free at the booth.
"This marks a significant step forward for AI-Media — we're introducing entirely new encoder hardware built not just to support today's workflows, but to power the next generation of AI-driven live production," said Bill McLaughlin, Chief Product Officer.
