Apex-RF ships RAINIER Wi-Fi 7 wireless camera system with 50ms latency
Apex-RF launched RAINIER at NAB 2026, a wireless camera transmission system delivering 4K HDR video at under 50 milliseconds latency via Wi-Fi 7 across the 5–7.3 GHz band with 16 channels. The system is available now and on show at Central Hall booth C5613.
RAINIER provides full-duplex IP camera control for Sony, Grass Valley, Ikegami, and Panasonic cameras and native intercom integration with RTS, Clear-Com, and Riedel systems. SMPTE ST 2110 output with NMOS control connects directly into IP-native broadcast workflows without additional conversion hardware.
The combination of Wi-Fi 7 spectrum use, sub-50ms latency, and ST 2110 native output addresses a gap in wireless broadcast camera options: most existing wireless systems require a dedicated SDI output stage and separate intercom path, where RAINIER consolidates video, control, intercom, and IP infrastructure into one unit. "RAINIER combines video, control, intercom and IP infrastructure into one unified solution, giving broadcast production teams unprecedented flexibility and performance," said Sean Munaco, CTO of Apex-RF.
