Canon launches world's longest cine servo lens at $79,999
Canon is showing the CINE-SERVO 40-1200mm T5.0-10.8 at NAB 2026, a PL-mount cinema servo lens with a built-in 1.5x extender that pushes maximum reach to 1,800mm — the longest focal length of any cinema servo lens in production. The lens weighs just under 15 pounds, measures 16 inches in length, includes Focus Breathing Compensation and USB-C control. Shipping begins September 2026 at $79,999.
The lens targets broadcast and live-sports applications where a single operator needs to cover wide establishing shots through tight telephoto without a lens change. The 40mm wide end makes it usable on the sidelines or courtside, while the 1,800mm extended reach covers field action at distance comparable to multi-lens sports configurations.
Canon is also showing the RC-IP300 remote camera controller, which manages up to 200 PTZ cameras simultaneously from a single interface. A Cinema EOS firmware update covers the C400, C80, C70, C50, and R5C, adding SRT streaming improvements and Auto Exposure Ramping across the Cinema EOS range. The combined NAB announcement extends Canon's position in both high-end live sports optics and networked PTZ production workflows.
