GoPro launches MISSION 1 Series with 8K60 and new GP3 processor at NAB

GoPro announced the MISSION 1 Series at NAB Show 2026 (Booth C5519) — three compact cinema cameras built around a 50MP 1-inch sensor and the company's new GP3 processor. The launch marks GoPro's clearest move yet toward professional cinematography alongside its action-camera heritage.

The flagship MISSION 1 PRO shoots 8K60, 4K240, and 1080p960, with open-gate capture at 8K30 and 4K120. The GP3 is a 5nm SoC delivering more than 2x the pixel processing power of its predecessor and includes an integrated AI NPU. GoPro reports up to 14 stops of dynamic range and improved low-light performance from the new sensor-processor combination.

Showing the MISSION 1 Series at NAB rather than a consumer electronics event is deliberate. NAB's professional production audience — particularly broadcast sports, documentary, and compact cinema — is the addressable market for the GP3 sensor tier. The choice positions GoPro directly against other compact cinema options at the show and signals the company is pursuing revenue in professional production budgets rather than only consumer replacement cycles.
