RED takes Cine-Broadcast Module live with CBS Sports and NBC Sports

RED Digital Cinema is demonstrating the Cine-Broadcast Module in a live sports environment at NAB 2026, showcasing multi-camera IP broadcast integration already deployed with CBS Sports and NBC Sports Group in partnership with Fuse Technical Group. The setup is anchored by the V-Raptor XE, priced at $14,995, with 17 stops of dynamic range, 8K/60, 6K S35/80, 4K/120 and 2K/240 capture in a body under four pounds and a choice of RF or Nikon Z mounts.

The pitch is that large-format cinematic capture no longer has to exit the live workflow at the truck door. Enhanced RED Connect adds the Broadcast Color Pipeline and Phantom Track, enabling 4K 240p EVS-ready slow motion and full 8K live production over IP — the same workflow sports TDs have been building around traditional 2/3-inch systems.

Firmware 2.2 Beta introduces automatic record triggering from external tally, closing one of the last gaps between cinema bodies and broadcast control. "Productions are harnessing the visual power of large-format, cinematic storytelling within live content workflows — without sacrificing speed, reliability or standards compliance," said CEO Keiji Oishi.
