Sinclair and ONE Media demo ATSC 3.0 delivering to TV, tablet, and mobile
Sinclair and ONE Media Technologies are demonstrating a live ATSC 3.0 transmission at the ATSC booth (Central Hall C1655) that simultaneously delivers to televisions, tablets, and mobile devices under the banner "Broadcast Once. Deliver Everywhere." The demo represents a practical proof of the standard's device-agnostic delivery promise — reaching screen types that legacy ATSC 1.0 could never address natively.
The exhibit includes live discussion of Broadcast Positioning System deployment and five technical paper presentations covering ATSC 3.0 interworking with O-RAN networks, single-frequency network deployment, and hybrid broadcast-broadband configurations. The breadth of technical content signals that Sinclair and ONE Media are positioning ATSC 3.0 as infrastructure capable of carrying IP services alongside broadcast video, not just an upgraded TV transmission format.
Harvey Arnold, Sinclair's SVP of Engineering, received the 2026 NAB Television Engineering Achievement Award on April 21 at the We Are Broadcasters ceremony, recognizing sustained engineering contributions to broadcast infrastructure. Sinclair CEO Chris Ripley stated the company is "focused on advancing the future of broadcast through innovation and collaboration." The floor demo distinguishes Sinclair's NAB presence from the FCC regulatory debates surrounding the ATSC 1.0 sunset — here the argument is technical performance, not policy.
