SVG previews North Hall: IP infrastructure and AI dominate sports workflows

Sports Video Group published a North Hall floor preview ahead of NAB 2026 that identifies two dominant themes across the sports production exhibits: IP infrastructure built on SMPTE ST 2110, and real-time AI tools for live sports augmentation.

The SVG preview reflects the consolidation of IP adoption in sports broadcasting. ST 2110 has moved from a transition story to a baseline expectation in North Hall this year — the floor conversation has shifted from "should we move to IP" to "how do we operate IP at scale with acceptable fault tolerance." The preview notes that IP infrastructure vendors are now competing on operational tools, monitoring, and interoperability rather than on the merits of IP itself.

On the AI side, the focus is on tools that operate within the live production window rather than in post. Real-time AI applications — player tracking data overlays, automated replay selection, AI-assisted camera control — are appearing across multiple North Hall booths as production-ready deployments rather than concept demonstrations. For sports rights holders and broadcast facilities, the combination of mature IP routing and real-time AI represents the infrastructure layer for the next phase of live sports production workflows.
