Adobe ships Color Mode for Premiere, Firefly Video upgrades, Frame.io Drive
Adobe is unveiling three additions to its video toolchain ahead of NAB Show 2026. Color Mode in Premiere Pro is a purpose-built color-grading environment entering public beta for all Premiere subscribers, with general availability targeted for later in 2026. The interface is designed to keep color work within Premiere rather than requiring a round-trip to a dedicated grading application.
Frame.io Drive is a new desktop client that mounts Frame.io cloud projects as local storage, enabling editing teams to stream project assets in real time without a full download. The approach targets distributed production pipelines where bandwidth and version control across sites are persistent friction points.
On the AI side, Firefly Video Editor gains the Kling 3.0 and Kling 3.0 Omni models for professional video generation, alongside enhanced speech and audio tools. A forthcoming agentic Firefly AI Assistant is designed to orchestrate multi-step workflows across Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Creative Cloud apps — moving beyond single-task generation into sequenced, cross-application automation.
The three announcements address distinct workflow gaps: color finishing kept in-app, remote asset access without download overhead, and AI assistance that spans the full Creative Cloud stack rather than a single tool.
