Avid launches Content Core on AWS with Amazon MGM as first customer

Avid is unveiling Avid Content Core on AWS at NAB 2026 from Booth N2226, pitching the platform as a cloud-native foundation that unifies newsroom and post-production workflows for broadcasters, studios and streamers. Amazon MGM Studios is the launch customer, already running Avid Media Composer and Avid NEXIS on AWS for large-scale productions.

The move formalizes Avid's pivot from on-prem storage and editing suites to a cloud-first posture, and it matters because Avid's installed base still defines how most newsrooms and scripted post shops operate. Avid NEXIS Cloud now runs directly on Amazon EC2 and S3, and Content Core introduces a unified layer for AI automation across connected media workflows — the kind of horizontal orchestration rival cloud MAM vendors have been pushing into Avid accounts.

"Avid is the intelligence layer for professional media, combining proven workflow expertise with AI-powered automation," said CEO Wellford Dillard. The positioning puts Avid in direct competition with the AI-native orchestration pitches dominating the show floor this week.
