Broadpeak launches packager-level Multiview for live sports streaming
Broadpeak is launching Multiview at NAB 2026, a system that enables multiple simultaneous live sports feeds on a single screen. The technical distinction from existing approaches is where the composition happens: instead of combining feeds at the encoder — which multiplies encoder instances per viewer — Broadpeak assembles the video packages at the packager stage and delivers a single stream to any device, regardless of how many simultaneous feeds the user has selected.
That architecture reduces encoder load at scale, a meaningful cost lever when a live sports event attracts millions of concurrent multiview sessions. A Parks Associates survey cited by Broadpeak finds 53% of sports fans consider multiview appealing, suggesting demand will grow as rights holders add the feature.
"Multiview is quickly becoming table stakes for the biggest sports streaming companies," said Jacques Le Mancq, President and CEO, Broadpeak. The broader context is that multiview has moved from a premium differentiator — introduced by major US cable operators — to a feature streaming subscribers increasingly expect. Broadpeak's packager-level implementation offers a route to delivering it without rebuilding encoder infrastructure.
