Calrec ImPulseV and Grass Valley AMPP integration

Calrec ImPulseV joins Grass Valley AMPP for unified audio-video production

Calrec and Grass Valley unveiled a partnership at NAB 2026 that integrates Calrec's ImPulseV virtual DSP audio software with Grass Valley's AMPP cloud-native production platform. The result is a unified audio-video control environment deployable on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid configuration. A single operator surface can manage multiple consoles or processing cores, eliminating the separate audio hardware layer that traditionally runs alongside video production infrastructure.

The practical significance for broadcasters is that tier-one broadcast audio processing is now available inside a software-defined production pipeline without dedicated DSP hardware. For operations already running AMPP for video, adding ImPulseV through the same orchestration layer lowers the cost and complexity of bringing in Calrec-grade audio capability.

Calrec is also making the North American debut of its 48-fader Argo M console at NAB 2026, giving buyers a physical control surface option alongside the software integration. The dual announcement reflects a pattern across the show floor: audio vendors increasingly need to demonstrate both a traditional hardware product and a software-defined cloud path as broadcasters split their fleets between on-premises and distributed production environments.
