MediaKind cloud multiview deployment for Charter and Comcast
Charter Communications

MediaKind MK.IO Multiview reaches 20 million subscribers via Charter and Comcast

MediaKind's MK.IO Multiview platform has crossed 20 million subscribers in North America, the company announced at NAB 2026. Charter Communications deployed the service for the 2026 NCAA basketball tournaments. Comcast brought the capability to X1 subscribers for NFL games — offering up to six simultaneous live games — and added a "Create Your Own Multiview" feature that lets viewers select and assemble their own layout from live streams in real time.

Both deployments run entirely on the MK.IO cloud platform with no bespoke hardware required at the operator edge. That distinction is material for operators evaluating whether multiview is a capital infrastructure project or a software service they can turn on and off by sports season. The subscriber count across two of the largest U.S. cable operators provides concrete validation at commercial scale.

The viewer-assembled layout feature in the Comcast deployment represents a step beyond the fixed-grid multiview formats that have defined the format since its rollout. Letting viewers choose which games appear in which quadrant adds a layer of personalization that moves multiview closer to the experience streaming-native products like YouTube's NFL Sunday Ticket have offered, putting cable operators in a more competitive position heading into the next rights cycle.
