Panasonic and NEP certify KAIROS integration with NEP Platform at NAB

Panasonic and NEP Group announced a certified integration between the KAIROS IT/IP live production switcher and NEP Platform, NEP's new software orchestration system, at NAB 2026. Built on SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS standards, the integration allows operators to manage production switching, signal routing, and resource allocation from a single unified control interface. The arrangement removes the context switching typically required when managing a hardware switcher alongside a separate orchestration layer.

For live sports and large-scale event production, where NEP operates globally, this kind of vendor-certified interoperability shortens deployment time and reduces the risk of compatibility issues between major production systems. The NMOS foundation means the integration follows an open standard rather than a proprietary API, lowering the barrier for further third-party connections.

"Our partnership with NEP marks a meaningful step forward for KAIROS' open-platform vision, giving customers a clear, validated path to IP," said Steve Milley, VP Professional Video and Audio Systems at Panasonic AV North America. Panasonic is also showing the AK-UBX100 4K multi-purpose camera with ST 2110, NDI, and SRT support, and the AW-UE5 PTZ camera with NDI HX, extending its IP production product line at the show.
