Telestream debuts Pulse monitoring platform and UP cloud service for ST 2110

Telestream publicly debuted Pulse at NAB 2026, a software-defined test and measurement platform built for SMPTE ST 2110 IP environments. Pulse provides multi-user dashboards combining waveform monitors, vectorscopes, audio meters, and alarm logs in a single software layer. Telestream is at West Hall booth W1503.

The companion UP platform adds cloud-native ingest, orchestration, and live monitoring for distributed and remote production workflows. Both Pulse and UP are now integrated into Grass Valley's AMPP ecosystem, which means AMPP users gain file-based workflow orchestration, end-to-end signal observability, and cloud processing from a single operational layer without deploying separate monitoring infrastructure.

The significance is consolidation: IP-based broadcast production environments have accumulated monitoring tools from multiple vendors as ST 2110 adoption has grown, creating operational complexity. Embedding test and measurement directly in the production platform reduces the context-switching required to investigate signal issues. "Media workflows that were created 10 years ago are now becoming a constraint," said Charlie Dunn, VP of Product at Telestream, framing the platform as a response to infrastructure debt rather than purely a new feature addition.
